The Mango wood I use comes from Hawaii, The big, old trees no longer produce fruit and need to be culled out to make room for new trees. Thereby, Mango wood is plentiful, and beautiful, with a huge variety of grains, figure and color. It get overshadowed by the popularity of Hawaiian Koa, which is the most beautiful wood on the planet. So Mango sort of gets forgotten. It is a very nice tonewood. Because it is from Hawaii we see many Mango ukuleles, but try searching “Images: mango wood guitars”. It is becoming very popular and is plentiful.
